Bechstein Training Day with Torben Garlin
C. Bechstein has been one of the top tier piano brands for a long time. Back in November 2022, Torben Garlin, Concert & Institutional Service Director from Bechstein gave an intensive 1-day training, in Manchester, where the Northern Flagship store of Bechstein is located.
Grand piano, the instrument always stands for the top quality, also requires a good understanding on sound and touch that is definitely going to help technicians carry out services. Torben prepared a well-bind instruction over 60 pages full of content. The onsite talk on Grand Piano Regulation provided a comprehensive demonstration on how to develop a better understanding on sound and touch for a grand piano. When facing a grand piano, a better understanding could bring a more confident yet prudent attitude.
Like building a piano, regulation on piano also takes steps. From screws to keyboard, from hammer to damper, these different parts have various approaches towards perfect conditions. Tuning forms the last piece leading the grand piano to work flawlessly, based on the completion of regulation.
It was an intensive day of learning, with some tight but pleasant communications during lunch time. Fruitful results were carried by almost everyone attended, thanks to PTA, thanks to Torben Garlin.
